Smart Algorithm to Streamline Machine Vision

It is an interesting time for the image-enabled technology industry where the calls for disruption are louder than ever. Recent enhancements are being widely considered to improve the algorithms, maps, and vision of systems with 3D technology and vision-based measurement. Enabled with an innovative way of handling the image information, IVISYS is a provider of a robust object inspection platform that delivers reliable machine vision. With a proprietary algorithm that processes the image information in an intelligent manner, IVISYS’ machine vision system delivers consistent, high quality inspection through the entire inspection process. “We can do 3D control with 2D cameras and still get a reliable virtual 3D inspection at very high speed in real time,” says Jakob Kesje, Executive Director and CEO, IVISYS.

Harnessing the benefits of 3D, automation, and vision-based inspection technology, IVISYS brings new capabilities to its vision systems where object inspections can be done not just in the lab environment but also in the production line. By using an algorithm that has never been used before, IVISYS succeeds in supporting wider tolerance range, improving reliability, time efficiency, while driving down the need for manual intervention. "Our algorithm supports tolerance measurement ranging from a high value to as low as 25 microns," says Kesje.

Additionally, IVISYS offers a user-interface which is intuitive and easy-to-use. Thereby, the company’s inspection system allows updating the production line with automated inspection regardless of the presence of vision engineering teams. "Our software platform has the ability to execute more complex inspections at high speed and simultaneously improve user-friendliness," says Moatasem Chehaiber, CTO, IVISYS.

IVISYS can handle variety of products with varying volumes of production with a machine-based inspection.

Its Advanced Conveyor Inspection Station, MAS600XUL, can be used to deliver flawless products.Unlike other mission-critical inspection systems in the industry, MAS600XUL, offers the flexibility to build multiple products using the same inspection setup. The station helps in conducting verification, flaw detection, and measurement of the objects with high reliability.

With automation in mind, IVISYS has also developed its Robo Inspect solution that reduces manpower requirements in the production line and adds quality to the inspection process through consistency and superior control. The solution can be widely implemented in various industries including automotive, machinery, and plastic component manufacturing.

IVISYS' range of software modules—Pro M, Pro V, and Pro F—implement distinct, comprehensive, intuitive approach to make the process simple. While Pro M gives accurate measurement of the object, Pro V comes with verification capabilities that help inspect up to 240 different components in one image. Pro F on the other hand supports multiple areas and tasks in one image without losing process time. By implementing template matching in place of shape recognition, Pro F makes flaws which the users have no prior knowledge about or vary from time to time to be easily discovered by the robust IVISYS system. The module works by detecting irregular edges, surface scratches, bulbs and holes, and deviating surface textures.

IVISYS currently owns two patents that are designed to handle the vision input at high speed as well as handle the information generated from database searches and image processing. For the future, IVISYS plans to expand its geographical reach and deliver value to its clients by helping them fully optimize on their platform that keeps human intervention to bare minimum in product inspection. Having listed in NASDAQ recently, IVISYS is bullish to influence the industrial machine vision market in a big way.
